JOB SUMMARY


The Marketing Manager will oversee and execute marketing, advertising, public relations and communication campaigns and initiatives across a variety of traditional and digital platforms. This position will manage 2-3 direct reports. Reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. This position is very hands-on, providing the opportunity to delegate, but also be a key contributor. If you like the flexibility to be creative, think on your feet, and work collaboratively with a team to develop and deploy strategies for multiple brands (Credit Union, Mortgage, Insurance Agency and Foundation), this could be the opportunity for you.


  • This is not a remote position. Must be able to work in the Lathrup Village, MI office.*

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Monitor analytics for web, email, and other digital tools.
  • Assist with the creation of the marketing budget and help manage the allocated dollars to maximize return on investment.
  • Collaborate with various leaders to ensure integrated marketing efforts fully align with needs and goals.
  • Research, analyze, and monitor financial, competitive, technological, demographic and behavioral factors to identify and capitalize on new market opportunities.
  • Becomes/is an advocate of The Michigan First Way, supporting all facets of it, including complete fulfillment of Our Promise, 5 STARS Service, SOLVE IT and our ISMs. Fosters a positive demeanor and image through professional representation in all contacts with both, team members and members. Consistently reflects and displays each of our “ISMs” in daily job performance, as well as in all business interactions while executing on our goals and initiatives. Learns and utilizes EMEC (Every Member’s Experience Counts) in day-to-day responsibilities when communicating with members only.
  • Social media oversight and reporting for paid and organic content.
  • Assist with the development and deployment of market and member surveys, analyze results and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Assist with the development and execution of strategic plans to drive growth and increase market share for all Michigan First brands.
  • Ongoing oversight of Michigan First websites. Ensure they are always up-to-date and continue to be an accessible, valuable and easy-to-navigate resource. Plan and oversee SEO and SEM. Evaluate and implement interactive lead generation programs.
  • Oversee corporate branding guidelines to ensure adherence across the organization.
  • Develop advertising and promotional campaigns, including concept creation, drafting headlines, writing copy and working with a graphic designer to bring concepts to life.


LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES


Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.   • Experience managing websites, social media, and advertising campaigns, including content creation, campaign development/launch, segmentation, goal setting, tracking and reporting.
  • Exceptional and effective writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related field.
  • Familiarity with vendor management, contract negotiation and media buying.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of basic functions within the Adobe Creative Suite a huge plus
  • A proven track record of successfully leading a marketing team. The ability to mentor, motivate, inspire and coach team members to perform at the highest level.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly creative person with the natural ability to develop fresh ideas and effectively present them to others to gain support.
  • Experience managing relationships with third-party vendors, including external agency partners, mail/print vendors, designers, etc.
  • Experience using email marketing platforms and CMS systems.
