ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:

Lanakila Pacific is a family of programs and services designed to help seniors and people with cognitive, social, and physical disabilities build independence and improve their quality of life. The Marketing & Development Department provides a strong and comprehensive message for the Institution by developing a shared vision of the mission, vision, and role of Lanakila Pacific in the community, including that of the brands, programs and services administered by the organization. The Marketing Team focuses on building awareness about Lanakila Pacific and its programs, services and mission and on strengthening the organization’s brand in the community.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing marketing, community outreach and communication initiatives to promote, raise awareness and fundraise for Lanakila Pacific. This includes planning events, designing digital and print marketing materials and coordinating and executing internal and external projects on time and within budget. The Marketing Coordinator supports the mission, vision and values of the organization, and upholds and enforces the guidelines and policies of the organization, and demonstrates Lanakila Pacific’s values of teamwork, excellence, achievement, and motivation in all personal interactions and exemplifies Lanakila’s STAR service standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Implementation and Infrastructure

  • Lead in the planning and implementation of Lanakila Pacific’s marketing, communications and outreach activities for the purpose of raising awareness, fundraising and increasing community support and engagement.
  • Plan, research, write and publish donor, volunteer and employee e-newsletters.
  • Research, write and publish e-newsletters
  • Prepare accurate statistical and fiscal data for required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, program planning reports and record correspondence and presentations.
  • Lead in the planning and implementation of Lanakila Pacific’s special events and community partnership initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to complete departments’ project requests while maintaining alignment with the company’s marketing strategy and objectives.
  • Represent Lanakila Pacific at community meetings and events
  • Plan, implement and maintain strategies for Lanakila Pacific’s digital media platforms including social media, website and other internal/external platforms.
  • Collaborate and support Development team as needed
  • Coordinate the Marketing Department’s communication, advertising and public relations projects
  • Design and produce print and digital marketing and communications material
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to implement Marketing Department’s initiatives while maintaining alignment with the company’s strategy and objectives.

  • Complete training as mandated by organizational policy.
  • Ensure all safety procedures and practices are followed and enforced, and that safeguards and proper safety gear, such as gloves, are used when appropriate.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Required

  • Education: Bachelors degree in marketing, communications or related field
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
  • Clearance/Certification: 1) TB clearance, 2) Criminal background check, 3) Pre-employment drug testing; 4) Child Protective Services/Adult Protective check.
  • Skills: Print and digital graphic design; Strong writing skills; Intermediate knowledge of application programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, or other comparable programs
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of marketing or communications work experience

Preferred

  • Skills: Photography, video production/editing
  • Experience: 5 years of marketing or communications work experience in nonprofit sector

WORKING CONDITIONS/HOURS:

Monday through Friday, normal business hours 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Hours and workdays, including weekends and holidays, may vary due to operational needs and contract requirements. Indoors, office setting (and telework available), outdoors; may travel to see employees, other program sites, meeting sites, etc., as required.
