Job Description
What to Expect
Tesla is a seeking an exceptional manufacturing test engineer to support commissioning and sustaining of automated manufacturing test systems used for worldwide production of vehicle, cell, and energy products. As a member of our team, you will ensure the products developed by the Manufacturing Test Engineering (MTE) team meet our world class expectations and ensure success of the overall project. You must have a genuine passion for engineering products that will fundamentally change the world’s energy infrastructure, and thrive working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
What You’ll Do
  • Willingness to be on the line doing hands-on work with equipment as needed. This is more than an office role
  • Advocate for new technologies that advance our tech stack to be best in class
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with manufacturing, production, quality, maintenance, and product design engineering teams to support launch of new product lines and ramp to mass production
  • Understand engineering first principles of MTE equipment (software, electrical, and mechanical) and have a systems-level grasp of operations to be a key point of contact
  • Support and improve existing test software through bug fixes, cycle time reduction, increasing first pass yield (FPY), and improving overall sustainability and robustness
What You’ll Bring
  • Effective at summarizing/presenting data in a manner that is easily digestible to various technical and non-technical audiences
  • High-volume manufacturing environment experience
  • Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, or Python
  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
