• We are expanding our small and friendly manufacturing team based in Santa Clara, California.
• Safety culture is a priority given the inherent higher risks and hazards of our industrial processes and working environment.
• This is an integral role in supporting Element Six’s production activities and will involve using a range of polishing, lapping, measuring and inspection tools.
• The successful candidate will carry out key processes for our manufacturing and post production operations; the role will require the successful applicant to divide their time between both areas as required to meet operational needs
• Tool manufacturing experience is useful but not essential; Full on the job training will be provided and we encourage applications from candidates looking to learn new skills
• The ideal candidate will look to support continuous improvement across production.
• The role will suit an autonomous individual with good attention to detail who enjoys a structured approach to their work.

Duties and tasks

• Delivering work safely and to a standard that ensures the health and safety of others.
• Quality Control of final product (Microscopy, interferometry and other metrology methods)
• Pre-Synthesis (preparation of substrates for synthesis)
• Using lappers, polishing tools and a precise measurement tools to ensure products are finished to the specification required
• Working as an integral member of the production team to ensure Promise Adherence of delivery to customer.
• Processing (Lapping, Polishing, quality control checks)
• Ensuring equipment is properly setup and operated according to guidelines.
• Be a role model for our Company values.
• Responsible for ensuring their work area is kept to a high standard of organisation and that materials and consumables are stocked as required
• Undertaking work in the following areas:
  • Pre-Synthesis (preparation of substrates for synthesis)
  • Processing (Lapping, Polishing, quality control checks)
  • Quality Control of final product (Microscopy, interferometry and other metrology methods)

• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A diligent worker with a keen eye for detail and right first-time approach.
• The ideal applicant will have machining or lapping/polishing skills or have demonstrated competence in an artisan trade
• Computer literacy to use QC tools/equipment and perform data acquisition.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• -Aptitude and willingness to learn our processes and procedures; the successful applicant is required to work to very precise and exacting standards.
• Must be able to multi-task; a flexible approach is critical to successfully deliver in this role.

• We operate a Skills Based Progression Matrix at our Santa Clara site. This is a non-exempt position and the entry pay rate is $30.45 per hour.
