Job description:

In the position of Managing Director you consolidate existing business and ensure future market growth in North America. You collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop long-range financial goals and implement strategies. Further, you lead and manage the sales towards development and realization of the targets, while monitoring competition movements and strategies.

Apart from your commercial activities, you are responsible for monitoring the business performance, implementing corrective actions to maximize business success, and realizing improvements concerning structure and activities.

You inspire the team through an inclusive style of leadership and implement concepts to increase efficiency in all divisions. You promote action and stimulate a result-oriented mindset, so there is an open and direct communication between leaders and employees to facilitate collaboration within the departments.

You travel to domestic and international clients, suppliers, and internal company meetings.

Our client is a leader in the production and sale of mini eclairs and cream puffs. They also maintain a significant market presence in the import and sale of French macarons and coconut macaroons. They are part of an international group and employ 100 employees, while representing $85m in revenue.

The parent company is a Belgian family-owned business that produces biscuits, cakes, pastries, desserts, and macaroons. Their goal is for the world to experience the familiar taste of their sweet bakery products and they want everyone all over the world to enjoy those small moments of indulgence throughout the day.

The company has nearly 1200 employees worldwide, with 11 plants in 5 countries.

Candidate profile:

• 12+ years of Commercial, Financial, Operations and Leadership experience.
• Strong marketing skills (i.e. brand/product strategy, positioning, pricing, research, etc.)
• A keen understanding of the industrial bakery business with excellent customer facing skills.
• MBA or equivalent through experience.
• Strong insight into the organizational value chain and its financial structures, including P&L and balance sheets.
• The ability to guide individuals and groups towards desired outcomes, while setting high performance standards and delivering high quality services to the customers.
• Very organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, operation risk assessment and financial reporting.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• A decisive, proactive, and goal-oriented personality, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Skilled in analyzing data and preparing management reports.
• Broad experience in managing a high-performing team.
