The Defense Systems (DS) Human Resources organization is seeking the expertise and leadership of a Manager, Talent & Performance Management to shape and implement a talent management strategy to enable top tier business performance. The Manager, Talent & Performance Management will join the DS Talent organization, reporting to the Senior Director of Talent and will lead a team of specialists responsible for helping our organization build a robust pipeline of talent with a focus on career journeys from emerging talent to executive leadership. This person will also lead performance management and engagement strategies that help us create positive outcomes for both employees and the business.

This position is based out of our Falls Church, VA or Linthicum, MD office with flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement, with onsite presence required based on team and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Critically evaluate all talent management programs; assess strategic alignment and build & execute talent programs that help us achieve our long range strategic plan.
  • Manage & improve the nomination and selection for leadership cohort programs.
  • Leverage talent management & OE subject matter expertise and internal/external best practices to think creatively and envision / develop new solutions that drive business outcomes
  • Lead and elevate the execution of core talent processes, including talent reviews, performance management, engagement, workforce planning, and adoption of Workday modules.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources Business Leaders and Sector leadership to develop and implement talent management strategies aligned to business strategy.
  • Oversee sector talent identification and assessment, succession management, leadership pipeline development and the identification of development needs to inform talent development strategies.
  • Partner across the enterprise to expand/evolve existing initiatives and influence future plans and roadmaps, including the digital transformation of succession planning & talent review processes
  • Lead a team of talent management professionals through ambiguity & shifting priorities, proactively managing workloads to deliver high quality products on time while maintaining team’s work-life balance

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong relationship-building skills; proven track record of building collaborative partnerships with senior-level leaders as the basis for being able to influence direction and drive change
  • Outstanding organization and project management skills with the ability to manage the delivery of high-quality, on-time programs in a dynamic environment
  • Strong, proven experience in strategic Talent Management planning, optimization, and execution.
  • Leadership experience, including direct or indirect management/delegation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience leading comprehensive organizational assessments that result in development and implementation of strategies that strengthen talent outcomes
  • Ability to leverage data and analytics to inform decisions and actions aligned to business outcomes
  • Possess exceptional consultative skills that combine thought leadership, influential communication, and strategic problem solving to design and drive people-related change
  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense or other technology/manufacturing organization
  • Degree in business, management, organizational development, human resources, or closely related field

Salary Range: $139,000 USD - $218,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
