The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plano, Texas location in the Neuromodulation Division. You will work in our Plano location but will have the option to work a hybrid schedule.
Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.
We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Manager, Project Manager R&D to work with new product development teams to plan, develop, gain regulatory approval, and commercialize state of the art neuromodulation therapies for our patients and customers. Program Managers lead/manage programs of small to medium scope, or a significant subsection of a large program. Provides leadership to a cross-functional team to develop and execute plans for commercialization of new products. Works cross-functionally with core team and functional managers to ensure that projects meet objectives and timelines.
What You’ll Work On
  • Overall accountability for program execution, typically new product development programs
  • Identify and help clear barriers to maintain effective and timely progress
  • Report team progress and recommendations and resolution at senior staff meetings
  • Ensure that the cross functional members work as a “team” focused on divisional goals
  • Leadership and Accountability
  • Represents the entire product development team to the organization
  • Provide guidance to core team members on management techniques
  • Provide leadership to the team by working to define clear, realistic goals. Leads by example with excellent diligence, planning, analysis, and communication
  • Develop comprehensive program plans, which identify objectives, strategy, risks/risk mitigation, budget, effort estimates and schedule for new product development.
  • Develops plans with core members to eliminate and/or mitigate risk. If risks cannot be mitigated within the core team, determines appropriate means to communicate and elevate issues to appropriate individuals within the organization.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving overall business performance of the program.
  • Project Management
  • Establish and maintain the program and product Design History File.
  • Communicates with all levels of the organization, from operators on the floor to the President in order to represent the objectives, risks, and needs for the program.
  • Resolve conflicts within and outside the team
  • In partnership with the Director, identifies opportunities for improving overall performance of the program.
  • Facilitate all core team meetings. Issue agendas and minutes. Track progress against the project plan, business plan, project contract, and action items.
  • Provides guidance to core team members to assist in resolving conflicts and clearing barriers to maintain effective and timely progress towards project completion. Represents the core team to the organization, and reports team progress, project recommendations and issue resolution at senior staff meetings. Maintains the overall project plan and schedule for the core team to ensure project meets divisional goals.
  • Lead core teams towards program objectives
  • Lead activities across numerous functions to meet the objectives of a given program including scope, budget, and schedule.

Required Qualifications
  • Proven ability to manage to plan and resolve issues, effectively clarify issues and actions
  • Project management tools including MS project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Takes initiative, Drives innovation and change
  • Solid understanding of Design Controls
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience in engineering or related technical discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Polished communicator- written documentation and oral presentations/ discussions/ meetings.
  • PMP Certification
  • Excellent reputation for building relationships across various levels of an organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience managing R&D mechanical and electrical development programs is preferred.
  • Neuromodulation technology experience. Class 3 medical devices.
  • Previous experience managing development teams and/or programs in the medical device industry is preferred
  • Medical device development experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience leading projects in a medical device, biomedical or high technology industry
