Job Description
MANAGER OF FOOD & BEVERAGE/BALLPARK OPERATIONS
The Florence Flamingos have been on the forefront of marketing, entertainment and operations since their beginning in July 2021. If you want dull and boring food and beverage, this is not it.
We are completing our second year at Carolina Bank Field which opened for the start of the 2022 season. The ballpark not only hosts the Flamingos for 25 home games but also 8-10 other events/month to keep things hopping.
Our sister team in the Coastal Plain League is the Macon Bacon. The two teams have common ownership and leadership in Steve DeLay (a 30+ year veteran in the industry and author of The Ultimate Toolkit Series) and Brandon Raphael, himself a 25+ year veteran who also doubles as President of the Bacon.
We share best practices, strategies, data analytics and more with our F&B people in Macon to help us perform even better.
WHY THIS IS THE BEST F&B/OPS JOB IN SPORTS
We do food and beverage differently. Nearly 90% of our fans at Flamingos games get all-you-can-eat hotdogs, burgers, chicken sandwiches, soda and water. We are going to challenge our F&B person to deliver exceptional service with short lines and minimal waste. We view this position as managing their own business – control food costs and labor costs, price right and deliver a fantastic customer experience. If that is you, we want you.
On the stadium ops side, you’re responsible for the day-to-day ballpark operations including staffing, cleaning, special event operations and anything else that comes up.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As the Director of Food/Beverage & Ballpark Operations, you’ll be responsible for the oversight, management and growth of the following areas:
1. Food & Beverage – You will be running the show. From menu creation to execution of our famous all-you-can-eat plans, you and your team will be providing exceptional food/drink options and top-notch customer service.
2. Ballpark Operations – You will be responsible for maintaining and keeping Carolina Bank Field looking spectacular. Being a Mr. or Ms. Fixit is definitely a plus.
3. Game Day Staffing – You will have oversight of the training and staffing of all game day workers. We pride ourselves in bringing in the best talent for the season.
4. Having Fun – We are the Florence Flamingos, and it is in our name. We have a wonderful time, and our office culture is all about celebrating our victories.
We play about 25 home games each year along with other events planned during the offseason.
QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills. You should have an elite attention to detail and superior time management skills. Experience in managing a staff is a bonus.
Experience with Food & Beverage is strongly preferred.
You should have the willingness to learn. To live and breathe working in a great office culture. Positivity and coming to work every day with a smile are a must.
This position is a member of the senior leadership team with the Flamingos.
HOW MUCH
The starting salary is commensurate with experience (figure in the $30,000 - $32,000 range) and there is a bonus structure tied to profitability and hitting key revenue benchmarks. There are health benefits, a 401K and profit-sharing plan as well.
We are looking for someone that is hungry. And, if you look good in pink as well, that is a bonus. Is that you? If so, apply and let us have a chat.
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
