Job Summary

We are looking for a sharp communications professional with experience in project management to join our team. Working closely with Foundation and Marketing leadership, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communications and marketing collateral to engage our existing donor base as well as potential donors within our community ad beyond. Working with internal and external stakeholders including physicians, community leaders, and board members, and others, you will work to increase awareness of Mount Sinai’s Foundation, grow donations, and advance the mission of the medical center.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced professional who is extremely organized and detail-oriented with demonstrable writing and editing skills. Ultimately, you should be able to manage, edit, and optimize content and collateral to ensure philanthropic engagement, brand consistency and a positive experience.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and advises on distribution plans for content and content elements. Collaborates closely with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure Foundation content planning aligns with communication planning and resource allocation.
  • Attends, conducts, and participates in hospital events and/or department and committee meetings.
  • Develops, oversees and executes on content calendar for the Foundation, in conjunction with leadership. Understands current marketing efforts and strategically aligns content to ensure consistency of messaging for web, newsletters, social and other collaterals.
  • Responsible for helping to draft and edit all Foundation proposals, inclusive of both copy and design. Works to provide recommendations to the VP, Foundation for optimizing messaging.
  • Participate in brainstorming, strategy planning and execution for Foundation initiatives including communications, events, campaigns, special projects etc.
  • Edit, proofread and improve other contributors’ proposals, editorial, etc.
  • Provides editing and feedback for all developed communication and collateral pieces. Engages with marketing team consistently to provide creative input for concepts, ad copy, fundraising initiatives and other projects as requested.
  • Supports Foundation marketing initiatives by managing all projects and campaigns for service line specific efforts, capital campaign projects, proposals, etc
  • Works in conjunction with leadership to create, write, edit, research, develop, and coordinate healthcare content by interviewing clinical stakeholders and transforming the technical information into consumer-friendly content for our donor base.
  • Coordinates the design and production of communications materials with graphic artist, web/digital strategists, printers and other vendors. Ensures all marketing/communication materials meet quality and brand standards, adhere to format requirements, comply with customer or organization specifications and are delivered on schedule.
  • Stays abreast of hospital news, trends, services, and objectives and provides daily updates of relevant storylines and competition.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in journalism, public relations or marketing or related degree required.
  • Design capabilities with knowledge of design tools such as Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
  • Familiarity with photography, video, printing, project management and content analytics required.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to proactively lead projects and see them through to completion
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a public relations/advertising agency, corporate marketing department or foundation/nonprofit development/communications role preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects. Exhibits excellent organizational and project management expertise, attentiveness to detail, and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks according to goals
  • Ability to communicate with physicians, administrators, and clinicians and exhibit sensitivity to politics among departments, organizations, and partners\
  • Impeccable writing skills with attention to detail, grammar and style
