Job Description

National Airlines, based in Orlando, FL, operates a fleet of B747, B757 and A330 aircraft to provide customers with a broad array of domestic and international operations. National Airlines specializes in time sensitive and special handling requirements, utilizing 757-200, 747-400 and A-330 aircraft to accomplish its missions worldwide.


Job Title: Manager of Internal Evaluation Program (IEP)

Location: Orlando, Florida

Department: Safety

Reports To: Senior Manager of Safety

Summary: The Manager of Internal Evaluation Program develops and maintains processes for the Internal Evaluation Program approved by the Director of Safety. This manager writes procedures in the company manuals.



Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain an IEP auditor training curriculum, ensuring auditors are trained and qualified to conduct IEP audits as assigned.
  • Assign IEP audits to trained and qualified IEP auditors to ensure completion of all audits in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct Special Audits as assigned by the Director of Safety.
  • Supplement the conduct of scheduled audits.
  • Assist in the development of processes for IEP-related SMS activity.
  • Assist operational departments regarding responses to audit outputs.
  • Manage Company initiated investigations and follow-up actions.
  • Develop and manage audit and finding processes within electronic recordkeeping systems.
  • Prepare departments and participate in various external audits.
  • Develop and maintain processes for the Internal Evaluation Program, approved by the Director of Safety, to include authoring procedures in airline manuals.
  • Coordinate, establish and maintain an auditing schedule and required checklists.
  • Conduct initial and recurrent auditor training.
  • As requested, periodically represent National Airlines at industry meetings/conferences (e.g., InfoShare)
  • Special assignments as designated by the Director Safety or Senior Manager of Safety



Qualifications:

  • Must have a clear understanding and working knowledge of all regulatory requirements including, but not limited to National Airlines approved/accepted manuals, operations specifications, 14 CFRs, FAA Orders, Advisory Circulars (especially 120-59B), Handbook Bulletins, HBATs, FSATs, FSIBs, SAIBs, HBAWs, 32 CFR 861, and other regulatory documents pertinent to National Airlines’ Air Carrier Certificate
  • Familiarity with IOSA audits and ISARPS
  • Must be able to work with a variety of personalities and conduct professional interviews.
  • 4 years of management experience working for a Part 121 Air Carrier which may be substituted for 4 years of Part 121 flight operations experience or a combination of the two.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Familiarity with DoD CRAF audits.
  • Familiarity with risk-based auditing processes
  • Ability to occasionally travel as necessary to conduct audit observations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work individually, and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety or an aviation related discipline
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to organize own work, while working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of 14 CFR, Part 5, Safety Management Systems
  • Possess strong leadership, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Aviation related auditor training
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct at all times.
