Job Summary
The Manager of Community Partnerships will be responsible for:

  • Co-managing the Hospital’s corporate and community giving.
  • Setting objectives and metrics to assess impact, evaluating results, and utilizing lessons learned to inform future efforts. Managing systems to track engagement with the community.
  • Helping to develop and implement the Hospital’s strategy for enhancing community partnerships in alignment with the Hospital’s community health programs and services and its desires to be an effective and collaborative partner in the community.
  • Staffing and engaging the Hospital’s Community Advisory Board.
  • Working closely with the Manager of City and Civic Relations to address shared priorities
  • Engaging, educating and informing Hospital departments and senior leadership about community partnerships in support of improving the health and well-being of the children and families of Boston.
  • Participating in and supporting the work of the Office of Community Health, including community benefits reporting.
  • Collaborating with community health programs to develop and maintain effective strategic alliances with community partners.
  • Implementing community partnerships strategy in alignment with the Hospital’s community health mission.
  • Managing the Family Food Connections Supervisor and providing guidance and support to the Supervisor to ensure daily operations are successfully carried out.
  • Measuring effectiveness of community partnerships and making recommendations for strategic engagement.
  • Supporting the senior staff in maintaining relationships with local city agencies including, but not limited to: Boston Public Schools, the Boston Public Health Commission, the Boston Housing Authority and Boston Centers for Youth and Family. Helping staff senior leaders in formal roles on boards and committees.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Experience in a complex organizational environment that demonstrates ability to manage issues, people and partnerships.
  • Work requires the knowledge of effective strategies to address the community’s needs.
  • Work requires a minimum of 3-4 years of previous work experience in community outreach, including outreach to community-based organizations and faith-based institutions in Boston.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the neighborhoods, issues and people of Boston, including understanding of principles of representation, health equity, social determinants of health and collective impact.
  • Work requires a working knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in public health, sociology, psychology, business administration or related fields. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Work requires a high level of communication (written and verbal) and group facilitation skills to facilitate collaboration among diverse parties toward a common set of objectives.
