About Us: The CommonWealth Purchasing Group (CPG) was founded in 1998 by the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers. CPG is a group purchasing organization (GPO) established to address economic issues facing health centers and nonprofit community service organizations. Today, with more than 650 member organizations across 47 states, CPG negotiates deep discounts and significant savings opportunities. With over 65 nationally recognized vendors, CPG promises exceptional customer support and incomparable savings.


Position Summary


The Communications and Marketing Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing CommonWealth Purchasing Group's (CPG) overall brand and marketing strategy. The Communications Manager will enhance the overall experience of members and vendors by coordinating all internal and external marketing efforts, through a mix of digital marketing, conferences, direct mail, customer service, and much more


Essential Functions


  • Oversee the hiring and management of interns, reviewing their work as appropriate. Represent CPG in various meetings, with members, and on policy issues.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication strategies.
  • Generate business leads and support our team of Member Resource Consultants with up-to-date marketing materials.
  • Cultivate new ideas and campaigns aligned with CPG's goals.
  • Manage email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, vendor campaigns, and webinar invites.
  • Design captivating ads, flyers, catalogs, and promotional items for conferences, social media, and the CPG website.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on marketing activities and results. Collaborate with vendors to create high-quality co-branded marketing materials.
  • Manage member and vendor contact lists through Salesforce.
  • Plan and promote our bi-monthly webinar series with vendors.
  • Provide feedback on business planning, personnel policies, and job descriptions
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and trade shows.


Key Qualifications


  • In-depth knowledge of current business practices and community health centers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in administrative office and marketing roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook).
  • Ability to drive and travel to meetings in a variety of locations statewide and nationwide, many not accessible from Boston via public transportation
  • Experience with Pardot and Salesforce is a plus.
