Operations Analysis & Performance (OAP) is seeking a candidate to develop and lead a highly effective business analysis team that leverages data, reporting, and analytics to drive continuous improvement efforts within Delta. This position will support Flight Operations at Delta as it strives to optimize pilot staffing and training efficiency, promote on-time operations within our daily flight schedule, drive positive pilot to customer experiences, and improve Delta’s position as a beloved worldwide consumer brand.

Additionally, they will exhibit strong analytical/process skills, thoughtful employee engagement, a bias for action, and the ability to partner with senior operational leaders to influence strategy that drives operational reliability and improves the Delta customer experience.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead a team of 4-5 analysts tasked with supporting Delta Flight Operations
  • Develop team members by establishing expectations, coaching performance, and creating a positive, dynamic, and collaborative work environment
  • Partner with business leadership to establish team priorities based on value
  • Influence and leverage the development of new data sources to provide performance insights and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Build relationships with both divisional leaders and frontline employees to identify improvement opportunities and implement system-oriented solutions
  • Build relationships with partner analytics and data science teams to coordinate cross-divisional projects and leverage diverse skillsets on complex operational problems
  • Support ad-hoc analysis, lead longer term improvement projects, and create insightful executive-level and frontline reporting and dashboards using data visualization tools

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)


  • Ability to influence without authority and work in a matrix environment required
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must have strong business acumen, statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess excellent written, presentation, and verbal skills with the ability to produce concise, relevant, data-driven documents and presentations for senior leaders
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Must be able to develop a vision, strategy, and objectives for a team and motivate and lead team to accomplish those objectives
  • Ability to effectively manage, prioritize, and deliver on multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • At least 5+ years work experience in Data Analytics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related analytical field required
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.


What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)


  • Direct supervisory experience preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience in using business analytics to deliver data-driven recommendations to senior leadership
  • Advanced level knowledge of SQL, SAS, Python, R, or other analytical programing languages
