General purpose of the job

The position is responsible for all aspects of maintenance and capital improvements to Ready Mix plants / sites and mobile equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. Working with mechanics, plant personnel, operations and division managers; the Maintenance manager ensures proper repairs of equipment are performed and is accountable for ensuring maximum efficiency of physical assets / resources associated with the assigned concrete plants which are required to produce the quality and quantity of Ready Mix concrete for the market and for the generation of budgeted profits.

Individual accountabilities

• Work with Operations Manager to ensure plants are manufacturing accurately at peek efficiencies: moisture probe operations, batch accuracy & speed, truck loading speed & consistency.
• Identify underperformance and establish corrective action plans accordingly.
• Communicate company initiatives and pursues best practices.
• Ensure best practices are being followed at all plants with regards to daily, weekly, monthly, semi annual, and annual maintenance being performed as per the plant maintenance record.
• Conduct annual and interim interviews with employees and administer the annual performance management system for his/her direct reports.
• Develop expertise in all plant systems, batch systems, electrical & air systems, and material handling systems.
• Conduct professional monthly operations meeting with clear agenda and priorities.
• Assists in developing long-range capital plans.
• Evaluate equipment condition and make recommendations to Managers and Mechanics prior to repairs.
• Ensure an operational image guidelines exist and are enforced.
• Ensure all warrantable repairs are documented as recommended in the data system (SAP) and communicated to the suppliers for recovery.
• Work with Division Manager & Operations Manager to manage mobile equipment & plant maintenance requirements, develop annual budgets and capital requirements.
• Maintain preventative maintenance program & coordinate service schedule with mechanics or outsource vendors.
• Develop and motivate staff by taking time to recognize and celebrate successes regularly.
• Promote a professional image in a standard and consistent manner; this includes housekeeping in all areas and the condition (cleanliness and appearance) of vehicles and equipment, appearance of our entrances, overall property, and buildings.
• Ensure all maintenance employees are compliant with all rules and regulations requiring equipment / tool usage and filling out necessary reports.
• Work with plants, admin, & vendors to manage tire inventory program.
• Produce daily “down reports”, weekly cost reports, maintain equipment repair history files, and manage parts inventory.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Technical knowledge and certifications

High School Diploma or GED, Technical School or College Degree preferred, Proficient with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Working knowledge of concrete products and production processes

Annual Salary Range from $78,448 to $108,955
