Responsibilities
PURPOSE: Plans, organizes and provides supervision and oversight for daily maintenance operations and activities to maximize plant productivity and efficiency.
Duties And Responsibilities
Essential Functions: Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Senior site management shall ensure the integrity and continued operation of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities.
  • Motivates and coaches' employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed
  • Actively participate in production management team meetings as requested.
  • Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.).
  • Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws
  • Control employee overtime hours.
  • Senior site management shall inform their certification body of any defined blackout periods that prevent unannounced re-certification audits from occurring when the site is not operating for legitimate business reasons. The list of blackout dates and their justification shall be submitted to the certification body a minimum of one (1) month before the sixty (60) day re-certification window for the agreed -upon unannounced audit.
  • Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
  • Coordinates with outside repair vendors and insures that their work is completed according to standard procedures.
  • Reviews and analyzes maintenance work orders to ensure that proper repair was made and trends in machine issues are identified;
  • Enforce personnel policies and procedures; complete and submit all associated paperwork in a timely manner;
  • Assist other departments with special projects as assigned.
  • Provide accurate attendance records to human resources indicating any point assessments
  • Maintains work order system;
  • Maintain safe working conditions with a goal of 1 or less recordable accidents and zero lost time accidents;
  • Conducts lock-out/tag-out training as needed;
  • Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
  • Develops and implements modifications and improvements, recommending specifications and scheduling for new projects and process improvements;
  • Administer coaching/counseling as required in a timely manner
  • Maintains and insures organization of part inventory;
  • Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
  • Providing definition of job duties
  • Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
  • Maintains physical plant including grounds;
  • Defining criteria for personnel advancement
  • Schedules daily repair activities;
  • Providing training opportunities for staff
  • Lead staff to accomplish activities in an efficient and safe manner by:
  • Supervises and inspects repair and maintenance work to insure the effective, efficient and up-to-date maintenance and repair technology practices are used;
  • Actively meets with vendors and suppliers to insure best price/quality are being received on all part and/or repair orders;
  • Assists in the selection of staff;
  • Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
  • Manages all maintenance operations within appropriate process guidelines and budgets;
  • Oversees all cost control/justification for department, including purchasing of machine repair parts;
  • Maintains preventive maintenance program and insures that these are performed as scheduled;
  • Senior site management shall ensure the training needs of the site are resourced, implemented, and meet the requirements outlined in system elements 2.9 and that site personnel meet the required competencies to carry out those functions affecting the legality and safety of food sector packaging.
  • Conducting performance evaluations
Qualifications
  • Daily Floor Time completing workplace behavioral observations
  • Daily conduct conversations with team members on safety
  • Daily review housekeeping with focus on your areas
  • Flexibility to work some overtime, as necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership to peers and subordinates
  • 4-5 years of experience in repair and maintenance of injection molding and/or stretch blow molding equipment
  • Reinforce procedures and if none exist; complete them
  • Be a Role Model - No exceptions from safety absolutes and plant rules
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience as a Plant Maintenance Manager in a high volume-manufacturing environment.
  • Support EHS Framework scoring and improvement plans
  • Respond to employee concerns with the respect that it deserves

  • Preparation of cost estimates, budgets, correspondence and status reports
  • Each meeting begins with a safety contact to consciously build into our daily routine that safety is key to our success
  • Employees to participate in their own safety program
  • BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and automated work order tracking system.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances, rules and regulations
  • Repair and Maintenance knowledge of injection molding, stretch blow molding, and assembly equipment
  • Preventative Maintenance Program development
  • Conduct discipline when safety absolutes or plant rules are broken -document
  • Do not communicate mixed messages. Reiterate that nothing is as important as safety.
  • Visible participation in pre-shift meetings reiterating safety - importance to the entire organization; reiterate need for
