Job Description

Summary

Join us for an incredible opportunity to be a part of our Maintenance Team as a HVAC Engineer 1. The HVAC Engineer 1 will support “A Seattle Collection”, a multi-property cluster comprised of Grand Hyatt Seattle, Hyatt at Olive 8 and Hyatt Regency Seattle.

Our HVAC Engineer 1 will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest room, meeting space, and front of the house areas, as well as back of the house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. This position will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, air conditioning and other mechanical equipment within our three properties. Minimum 2 years HVAC experience or equivalent trade school training is required with hotel experience preferred. Good communication skills are necessary for this role.

The hourly rate for this position is $35.50. This position also has an established rate for colleagues who remain in the position for four years, which is $36.21.

Qualifications

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be a team player but able to work independently as well
  • Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred
  • Open scheduling availability including evenings, weekends, overnight and holidays
  • Able to multitask and prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances
  • Minimum 2 years HVAC experience or equivalent trade school training is required
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 50 pounds)
