Our client is a pioneering startup dedicated to harnessing the power of autonomy to address critical challenges in various industries. As a Machine Learning Scientist, you will be at the forefront of innovation, developing cutting-edge machine learning systems that leverage uncertainty estimation and active learning approaches, such as Reinforcement Learning, to solve real-world problems faced by our customers. Your expertise will contribute to transforming sales and supply chains into autonomous, self-learning systems, driving efficiencies and enhancing consumer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement machine learning systems using uncertainty estimation and active learning approaches to tackle complex challenges for our customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy ML models throughout the entire development cycle, from initial R&D to production implementation.
- Utilize Python and SQL to work with data and create scalable and clean code that adheres to good engineering practices.
- Share your passion for AI and machine learning by communicating technical concepts effectively, both within the team and with business stakeholders.
- Push the boundaries of what is scientifically and technically possible, driving the advancement of ML capabilities and contributing to the scientific community through publications and open-source projects.
Basic Qualifications:
- A deep passion for AI and a strong interest in building machine learning systems.
- Proficiency in working with data using Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with the entire ML stack, from initial research and development to model deployment in production environments.
- A commitment to good engineering practices, clean code, and scalability.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with active learning, reinforcement learning, causal inference, and/or online learning approaches.
- Expertise in serverless or highly distributed ML model training on large datasets.
- Knowledge of experimental design and Bayesian uncertainty estimation.
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
