Lvn Lead - San Marcos Coastal Clinic

This is a Full-Time (80 hours every two weeks) benefited position, working 8-hour regular shifts Monday through Friday. Located at Scripps Coastal Clinic in San Marcos. The shift is either 7-4 or 8-5 depending on site needs.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is ready to step into the role and take lead, often acting in a charge nurse capacity over our Primary Care teams. In this role you will have an opportunity to work closely with other department leads, demonstrate partnering and effective communication, and be heavily involved in the patient experience assisting with de-escalations and taking direction with regards to day to day operations. You will use your chain of command and effective critical thinking to achieve our goal of delivering exceptional patient care each and every day.

The primary duties of the Clinical Lead (LVN) include:

• Practice within the scope of a LVN and contribute to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care.
• Responsible for review of new and existing staff documentation and charge documents for completion and accuracy.
• Responsible for providing technical support to Medical Assistant and LVN staff in a clinic site or physician module to include training, assurance of consistency and standardization of procedures, management of day to day staff coverage arrangements to ensure excellent patient care, staff performance management, and to serve as a mentor to staff.
• Responsible for covering multiple positions and departments, as well as mentoring new and existing staff on clinical processes and procedures.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certifications:

• Current LVN CA license
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience
• BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certifications:

• 1 year of experience working in an outpatient setting
• Previous training experience and leadership skills
