Lvn - Family Practice Clinic

JOB SUMMARY:

• Provides care to meet the physical and emotional needs of patient, carrying out the physician's orders in a manner that insures quality and patient safety.
• The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is responsible for assisting and collaborating with the RN in the delivery of nursing care consistent with the multidisciplinary recovery plan for a specific assigned patient group.
• Participates in gathering assessment data and jointly planning patient care within the scope of practice of an LVN.

ESSENTIAL DUTES:

• Other duties as assigned.
• Understands that duties, location of work and shift/pattern are subject to change as determined by the administration to meet the needs of the unit.
• Is flexible in work schedule.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality of information at all times, follow up on all patients.
• Respects and supports patient rights.
• Possesses a unique knowledge regarding the patient population to be served.
• Executes physician's orders for all assigned patients; administers medications and treatments and delivers population specific competent nursing care.
• Observes, assesses, plans, intervenes and evaluates outcomes and documents all aspects of patient care to assist in providing quality patient services.
• Provides basic patient/family instruction and healthcare teaching, able to obtain consents.
• Supports the mission and vision of the facility.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent walking, sitting, lifting, bending, and turning.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Position requires frequent travel between normal locations and other buildings located on campus. May be exposed to inclement weather conditions. May be exposed to irate employees, visitors, and/or vendors.

• Able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language.
• EMR experience
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and medical equipment such as I.V. pumps, portable oxygen, fluids, etc.
• Must be organized and attentive to detail.
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently to assure patient comfort and satisfaction.
• Bilingual a plus.

• 2 years clinical experience as LVN preferred
• Completion of an approved Certificate LVN Nursing program.

• Maintain current LVN license to practice in the state of Texas.
• Possess and maintain current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR
