What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a self-motivated and knowledgeable Logistics Yard Associate to support and manage Tesla’s yard operation. Candidates for this job must be able to provide quick and strategic solutions, provide insight and value on yard operations, adapt to sudden changes, manage difficult and complex challenges, and work collaboratively with excellent oral and written communication skills. You will work collaboratively with Global Supply Managers, Ocean Inbound Operations, Third Party logistics providers, and carrier partners. Candidate must be willing to commute to multiple locations. Hours expected are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. What You’ll Do

• Assist Yard team as required with the movement of units in the full container grounding yard
• Act as an independent party that will ensure all vendors are treated professionally and without bias
• Perform Yard Inventories daily report, be able to track all full container loads in the yard, verify sealed containers, work with stacker operator, third party logistics, drivers, and inspect damaged containers
• Fosters a professional, respectful, and safe work environment, while maintaining Tesla standard for personal and professional excellence
• Issue statistical or detailed reporting for Stakeholders as requested. Report any discrepancies and help to improve processes to minimize those discrepancies and increase productivity
• Manage the operations of container yards, container stacking operations, inventory management, and time study analysis
• Performs and reviews Root Cause and Corrective action analysis for turnaround times and delays
• Drive excellent productivity and performance with Tesla logistics partners (third party logistics and carriers), and internal stakeholders
• Ensure all Third-Party Carriers understand and comply with safety of yard operation, up to date on hazmat certifications, and other Tesla Yard Standard operation Procedures
• Controls and Audits Inbound and Outbound Lane Flow to efficiently manage and direct full container loads from lanes and yard operations as required
• Work closely with logistics yard team and Third-Party Carriers to ensure open communications, a complete understanding of all yard processes, procedures, safety, and expedited shipments
• Proactively monitors indicators of yard operation inefficiencies, analyze room for process improvements, and primary point of contact for ground containers and stacker operations
• Ensure that the yard is fully optimize and organize according to blueprint and accessibility

What You’ll Bring

• Strong Communication Skills
• Experience with Drayage and yard operations preferred
• 2 – 5 years in Supply Chain and Yard Management experience and evidence of exceptional ability
• Strong Interpersonal Skills, able to work alongside with multiple teams
• Excellent computer skills, especially in Excel and other database systems
• High School Diploma

Expected Compensation
$16.00 - $48.00/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
