We are currently looking for a Logistics Coordinator based in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC area to support our Supply Chain team.


The Position


The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for planning, executing, and tracking all global logistics activities. You will work with our 3PL partners to arrange small, large, and single type shipments inbound to our manufacturing site and outbound to project sites all over the world. This position will report to the Sourcing Director.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Maintain a deep understanding of the transportation industry with a focus on FTL, LTL (North America), and ocean, air shipping (globally)
  • Monitor, enter, and update relevant shipment data in appropriate databases (for ex: shipping and RFQ trackers) for multiple unique shipments simultaneously
  • Subject matter leader in international shipping rules and regulations to maintain a deep understanding for global custom (import/export) processes and incoterms
  • Prepare accurate shipping documentation (commercial invoices, certificate of origin, packing list, etc.)
  • Risk analysis: Communicate, track and updates the logistics risks with clearly defined mitigation plans
  • Proactively address and resolve shipping related issues and risks in a timely manner and, identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency
  • Daily interaction with Project Team, Procurement Team, Manufacturing Team, Vendors, and 3PL Shipping Partners
  • Support in developing/improving logistic trackers, processes, and procedures as well as project specific logistic plans
  • Prioritize inquiries based on level of urgency, identifying matters that require an immediate response
  • Schedule and monitor the global logistic schedules to ensure timely, cost effective and accurate delivery of material to project sites around the world


Requirements


  • Global logistic experience and understanding of ocean, air, and ground freight
  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a closely related field

  • Ability to manage time and projects effectively by adjusting quickly to new and different priorities
  • Demonstrates leadership skills
  • Understanding of and ability to assign Harmonized Tariff Serialization (HTS) to goods for import
  • Values collaboration and learning alongside passionate coworkers and supervisors that are committed to professional development
  • Can work effectively with a variety of different people at all levels
  • Proficient in MS Office and Smartsheet is highly desirable
  • Master's Degree in business, supply chain, or a closely related field
  • Good communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, both with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong data gathering skills and ability transfer knowledge to process artifacts
  • Exemplary organizational skills – ability to breakdown complex business problems into actionable progress steps to solution


Location


This position is based in either our headquarters in Durham, NC or at our manufacturing site in St. Petersburg, FL.


Travel Requirements


This role involves supporting manufacturing and project delivery, as such the candidate may be required to travel domestically or internationally on occasion.

This includes adherence to all state and local regulations. Additional safety precautions may include the use of PPE gear as needed per site requirements.
