Symetra has an exciting opportunity join our team as a Life Sales Operations Advocate!
About the role
As a member of the Life Sales Operations team, you will be primarily responsible for operational support and client advocacy for the Life Sales division by actively participating as a point of contact, providing concierge service throughout the policy process and client experience. Expectations for the role are to identify opportunities that streamline the Sales process, both externally and internally, and maintain a communication bridge between the company and its clients. Also, to work collaboratively, problem solve and facilitate action with all teams within the Life Division, for swift client resolution of inquiries and issues, to ensure business is handled efficiently and effectively.
What you will do
- Keep up with industry standards, insurance products, current rates, coverages, assist clients, underwriters, sales representatives, account executives, and team with understanding and addressing the newest rules and policy updates
- Assist with onboarding of clients or organization of meetings with new and existing clients. Make routine connections (via Coffee Talks or other method) which provide a means for responding to their inquiries and concerns and assist with training and programs where needed.
- Be flexible to adjust duties as needed to coordinate with business needs and industry trends.
- Help to cultivate ILD client relationships. Clients can be associated to external customers as well as internal co-workers. Help to provide a culture of transparency and collaboration.
- Assist with daily activities within the Sales team which includes but is not limited to providing input toward the development of system support for deriving main sales metrics using CRM, to ensure that assigned tasks are completed expeditiously and ensure relevant client documentation is appropriate and accurate
- Maintain partner profiles, contact lists, distribution addresses and other methods of contact which affect client connections.
- Proactively manage client communications, track all necessary documentation, pay close attention to any policy changes, important deadlines, etc., for the purpose of ensuring cases are completed efficiently and with a client-centric view.
- Manage internal processes that may be manual in nature while thinking strategically toward a smarter method…incorporating opportunities for efficiency/automation whenever possible.
- Collaborate with all members of ILD, within the group such as Operations, Analysts, External RVPs, Internal Sales and Marketing, but also external departments including, but not limited to New Business, Underwriting, Agency Service and Policy Service.

Compensation
$24.81 - $41.34 hourly plus eligibility for Company Annual Bonus
Your experience and skills
- Able to thoroughly research and problem solve tasks at hand.
- Experience working with and documenting via CRM or other tracking method. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a service minded team attitude.
- 5-10 years in the financial services industry, specifically with life products.
- Possess a strong work ethic with a sense of urgency; ability to prioritize effectively.
- 2-3 years life insurance experience, working at an insurance carrier or within the Brokerage Distribution space. At least 1 year of life insurance case management experience preferred.
- Ability to make decisions based on complex risk assessment.
- Associate degree, or high school diploma with 5-7 years related experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
