Job Description
Are you passionate about leveraging technology to drive efficiency and empower field techs and office employees alike? Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated Level 1 Desktop Support Technician to support an innovative industrial engineering firm! In this position, you'll ensure that IT support becomes a seamless facilitator rather than a constraint for the onsite and offsite associates. The ideal candidate would be located in the Greater Richmond area and will meet the following criteria:
Must Have Skills:
  • 2-4 years of experience in Desktop Support/Customer Service.
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Office 365, Sharepoint, OneDrive).
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Great communication skills and ability to mold their approach to different end users
  • Deep understanding of troubleshooting hardware such as Laptops, keyboards, mouses, and printers

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems for problem resolution
  • Proficient in networking and cabling, ensuring seamless connectivity to desired networks
  • Document recurring issues to create a knowledge base for efficient problem resolution

Responsibilities:
  • Provide step-by-step guidance to end users, enabling them to resolve their technical problems efficiently.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve end users' software, hardware, and network issues.
  • Conduct remote technical upgrades, software installations, and implementations to enhance system functionality.
  • Facilitate smooth onboarding/offboarding processes, setting up laptops, configuring Active Directory access, and ensuring access to essential programs and documents for employees.
  • Escalate complex issues to Level 2 Desktop Support Technician for further assistance.
  • Utilize the Spiceworks Ticketing system to manage and document support tickets throughout their lifecycle.
