General Description: Responsible for coordinating USI’s leave of absence program nationally. Includes short- and long-term disability, FMLA, state leave, and USI’s parental leave program.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist employees in resolving open items with USI’s disability provider to certify and extend leaves.
  • Coordinate with local HR/management to develop modified work schedules or return to work dates.
  • Manage state disability and paid family leave offsets. Work with Payroll team to ensure accurate leave payments.
  • Serve as main leave of absence contact for USI. Serve as a liaison between employee, local HR/management, and disability provider.
  • Manage intermittent leave time and disabled and working arrangements.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of federal and state government laws and regulations. Includes tracking state paid family leave changes.
  • Provide guidance to employees to help them understand their paycheck while on leave.
  • Complete timecard entries in HRIS time management system for all employees on a leave of absence.
  • Advise employees on various federal, state, and local leave laws. Includes FMLA, state specific family leave and disability programs, and company policies.
  • Monitor and track absence status and return to work dates. Includes updating status in IT and HRIS system.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Self-motivated. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Working knowledge of employment, federal and state employment laws, and regulations.
  • Strong client service skills and respect for confidential participant information
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • General understanding of employee benefits as they relate to leave of absence. Includes short/long term disability, and state disability pay.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions.
  • 2-4 years of experience in employee benefits and leave management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.


Compensation & Benefits Information:


Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000


This is a bonus-eligible position with a target incentive of 5%
