- Assist employees in resolving open items with USI’s disability provider to certify and extend leaves.
- Coordinate with local HR/management to develop modified work schedules or return to work dates.
- Manage state disability and paid family leave offsets. Work with Payroll team to ensure accurate leave payments.
- Serve as main leave of absence contact for USI. Serve as a liaison between employee, local HR/management, and disability provider.
- Manage intermittent leave time and disabled and working arrangements.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of federal and state government laws and regulations. Includes tracking state paid family leave changes.
- Provide guidance to employees to help them understand their paycheck while on leave.
- Complete timecard entries in HRIS time management system for all employees on a leave of absence.
- Advise employees on various federal, state, and local leave laws. Includes FMLA, state specific family leave and disability programs, and company policies.
- Monitor and track absence status and return to work dates. Includes updating status in IT and HRIS system.
- Self-motivated. Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, team environment.
- Working knowledge of employment, federal and state employment laws, and regulations.
- Strong client service skills and respect for confidential participant information
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- General understanding of employee benefits as they relate to leave of absence. Includes short/long term disability, and state disability pay.
- Ability to set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions.
- 2-4 years of experience in employee benefits and leave management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
