- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations related to employer compliance and specifically the legal aspects of leave of absence administration.
- Acts as a subject matter expert to Plant HR Teams for leaves of absence and absence-related benefits.
- Provide excellent service and timely responses for all potential leave inquiries with specific guidance regarding the process and education as it relates to job protection and wage replacement options during the absence.
- Manage incoming emails and prioritize, respond, and sort accordingly.
- Utilizes independent judgment to present recommendations to Plant HR leadership for regulatory leave cases based on relevant medical information and manufacturing conditions.
- Provide timely reports and feedback as it relates to the status of the leave for the client and/or Plant HR Team.
- Works in conjunction with the Payroll Team by supporting processing for leaves of absence, including timekeeping and compensation adjustments, proper coding, and editing of time for payroll processing.
- Works in conjunction with the Benefit Team and serves as primary contact to the Plant HR Team for all absence administration
- Attend educational webinars and workshops to continue to stay up to date on the changing environment of leave of absence administration.
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Products and with a focus on Excel reporting functionalities.
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced, professional environment with a numerous deadlines and competing priorities.
- Excellent communications skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media – verbal, written, etc.
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times and in all situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
- Strong technology experience in systems such as benefit administration, payroll or HRIS reporting.
- High School Diploma required, degree preferred in Business Management, Human Resources, or related field. PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
- Minimum 2 years leave of absence administration experience, high volume exposure within Leave of Absence platform (i.e., the Hartford) a plus.
- Manufacturing / Distribution experience a plus
