    SUMMARY:

    The TRUMPF Laser Operator is an individual contributor who enters information from the flat sheet nests necessary to run the machine. This position cuts raw steel to a shape used for the purpose of making mostly live fire ranges. The incumbent operates, the TRUMPF Laser and forklift and will be responsible for maintaining the entire laser system. The incumbent will also participate in daily lean management systems and practice good safety habits.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ability for troubleshooting of the fiber laser and loaded programs
    • Primary function is of the operation of TRUMPF Laser cutting equipment and creating / loading programs using blueprints, drawings and DXF files
    • Coordination and communication with various departments around materials needed and finished product movement
    • Perform various other duties requested by the supervisor
    • Direct and occasionally train others for supporting in the operation and use of the laser cutter
    • Meet production standards for performance and quality
    • Material Handling of raw and finished products at times using industrial equipment i.e.: forklift, cranes, or hand trucks.
    • Comply with all departmental processes and procedures to include OSHA, ISO, EPA, and other corporate requirements as specified
    • Sort, organize and separate parts following production orders, drawings, setup plan.
    • Must be proficient in entering information from the flat sheet nests necessary to run the machine.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must always have a high awareness for safety
    • Must be able to communicate effectively through written, verbal, or electronic means
    • Ability to use basic measuring tools to verify drawing requirements
    • Ability to adjust the laser programs after observing the laser in operation to ensure accuracy of parts
    • Knowledge of TRUMPF software and/or AutoCAD
    • Minimum one-year TRUMPF, Mazak, or similar fiber laser operator experience or previous experience in an industrial/ manufacturing environment is required.
    • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.

    OPTIONAL SKILLS:

    • Welding/ Brazing
    • CNC programming experience
    • Machine repair/ maintenance

    EDUCATION REQUIRED: Two-year technical degree with concentration in manufacturing processes or equivalent combination of work experience and training required
