What you’ll be doing
We have two unique Laboratory Technician 2 openings in our Portland Lab, we will be relocating to our new lab in Wilsonville, Oregon in the next few months.
Read on below to learn more about each opportunity.
Laboratory Support Position
One of our openings focuses on Laboratory Support. This position will order lab supplies for inventory maintenance and staff requests to assure ability to meet analytical needs.
  • Maintains supply inventories.
  • Stocks supplies as orders are received and/or released for use.
  • Performs QC checks on quality critical supplies received to verify required parameters met and are fit for purpose.
  • This position requires a flexible work schedule.
  • Enters data into appropriate databases related to task, ie. critical supply database, chemical inventory, etc.
  • Maintains lists of acceptable vendors and performs annual review.

For the Laboratory Support position, the ideal candidate demonstrates:
  • Experience communicating effectively with colleagues
  • Experience maintaining organization (keeps workspace tidy, develops efficient workflow, maintains records)
  • Ability to work independently and with others when collaboration is needed to complete tasks.
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting (not just academic labs)
Sample Receipts Position
The second opening focuses on Sample Receipts. This position is the sample custodian for samples submitted for analysis, may be the first point of contact for clients, and generates LIMS reports as needed. Additionally, this position assists with maintaining supplies for laboratory operations: inventory, ordering, receipt and verification. This position works a Monday through Friday work schedule.

For the Sample Receipt position, the ideal candidate demonstrates:
  • Experience with purchasing/inventory of supplies
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting (not just academic labs)
  • Ability to work independently and use best judgment for when to request assistance
  • Experience working with LIMS system(s), receiving/inputting sample data, maintenance
  • Experience communicating effectively with internal and external customers
  • Ability to develop and maintain sample storage system, including excellent organizational skills and use of computer tools (i.e. EXCEL)
What we’re looking for:
Minimum qualifications:
  • Or, an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Two years of experience performing routine, standardized analytical tests and laboratory procedures in accordance with well-defined written instructions AND high school courses in chemistry, biology, mathematics, or any course which included laboratory work;
  • An Associate's Degree in Laboratory Science may substitute for one year of the required experience
