Job Description
Job Summary:
Our Central Laboratory activities are growing rapidly, and we are currently looking to add to our team. The Laboratory Supervisor will act as a leader in establishing microbiology capabilities and direct research and development within the laboratory. You will aid in the development and growth of the microbiology department and will oversee the implementation of new microbiology technologies and instrument platforms in the lab. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. This position will be a full-time position in Cincinnati, OH.
Responsibilities :
  • Revise and implement new policies and procedures
  • Maintain patient and sponsor confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide advice and support to resolve sample management and processing issues;
  • Implement changes to work processes;
  • Ensure efficient and effective operations of assigned areas and oversee employees working in these areas;
  • Plan, delegate, and organize specific areas and duties
  • Prepare and monitor operational metrics for accurate billing;
Qualifications :
  • Previous departmental supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Life Sciences or other relevant field required, with a minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience (clinical laboratory preferred); and
  • Experience in microbial identification, susceptibility testing, disk diffusion, and microbial cultures;
Preferred
  • Have at least 4 years (2 for Masters) of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology with a minimum 6 months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty of bacteriology.
