The internship program at Carolina Herrera NY (CHNY) is designed to engage young talented students, like yourself, and evolve the future leaders of fashion.
It is our goal that your internship experience is a fun educational experience. The cross departmental approach at such a small company enhances your skill set beyond any learning of the class room setting. You will have the opportunity to work with almost every department. This working environment at CHNY provides the greatest opportunity for you to acquire hands-on experience in the business world.
What you´ll get to do
- Make colorups of illustrations using Photoshop and illustrator, and/or ProCreate
- Participate in design fittings & take notes during knitwear fittings
- Witness the creation and approval of Embroideries and Embellishments
- Participate in pre-show styling/fittings
- Make collection boards, and update seasonal line sheets.
- Participate in backstage runway show, if possible
- Shadow Manager with creation and approval of Textile artwork
- Prepare knitwear fabric cards once swatches are approved
- Participate in Design and Concept Developments
- Participate in the creation and approval of Color Palettes and Inspiration Boards
- Assist with creating of artwork layouts (intarsia, stripes, crochet, jacquards).
- Shadow Design Department with all department related activities specifically focusing on creating techpacks, preparing packages, daily factory communications
- Assist design department and product development team with collection development.
We´d love to meet you if you
- Have AI Photoshop / illustrator / Procreate basic skills
- Have previous internship experience in corporate design capacity
- Are a current college and/or university student or recent graduate (2023)
- Have knowledge of knitwear, garment construction, a sense of color, and presentation skills.
