JOB DESCRIPTION:
At a glance:
A Key Account Manager represents the company and all its product lines via sales calls in designated territories, participates in trade events, and conducts on-site and/or online training seminars. BDM has the following primary objectives: to increase the company’s revenue and profit, to maximize the company’s exposure, and to service all accounts in the sales territory.
Location: New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania.
Key Activities:
  • The territories have between 400-500 accounts according to yearly/quarterly/monthly and weekly goals set by the head office and regional director.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with regional management of all Preferred Accounts (as per annual agreements for such accounts signed by head office)
  • Maintain active membership in all pertinent regional professional associations as benefits the company’s representation and market exposure and as agreed by the head office and the regional director.
  • Manage and/or relay all known customer service and product issues in a timely manner to appropriate head-office staff members for prompt follow-up.
  • Provide head-office and regional director with relevant local market trends, news, and competitive and economical information in a timely fashion
  • Reach the yearly set revenue goals for the sales territory
  • Reach the yearly set number of travel agencies that book with the company
  • Adhere to and submit all monthly expenses based on budgets and reporting guidelines as set by head office.
  • On-site sales calls and training sessions may require overnight stays, travel out of state, and use of own vehicle.
  • Submit quarterly travel and sales call schedules as per guidelines issued by head office and regional director and follow up with applicable changes on a timely basis.
  • Attend and represent the company at various trade shows, tourist boards, and other industry-related events as per the approval and instructions of the head office and regional director.
  • Submit weekly activity reports as per company instructions to head office and regional director
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Be willing to travel extensively, and possess superior organization, communication, and negotiation/sales skills.
  • A college degree is preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of both domestic and international destinations including Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa, Middle East, and Australia/New Zealand is essential along with the ability to successfully oversee product and technology training for the retail agency marketplace.
