I am sourcing candidates for a Junior Software Developer to join my client's engineering team that will be supporting their C#/.NET platforms. This candidate will design, write, and maintain C# code for ongoing and future projects as well as have working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus relational database design and SQL.
They will support customers and staff and troubleshoot questions and errors. They will also contribute to design and planning sessions as well as formulate approaches for current coding tasks.
This is a Contract-to-hire W2 position supporting a non-profit on a hybrid schedule in Herndon, Virginia. Candidate must be local to Northern Virginia and able to comply with a hybrid schedule each week.

Responsibilities
· Collaborate with subject matter experts, management, and engineering teams to define, test, and implement features.
· Develop C# .NET modules.
· Create in-house applications using the .NET framework.
· Debug and maintain written code.
· Provide technical support to users, and coordinate resolutions with senior developers.
· Define and organize projects on an ongoing basis.
· Develop and execute QA tests, detect, and document results, assist with issue resolution.
· Work collaboratively on a project team alongside internal and vendor developers.
· Report on project statuses and developments to senior team members.
· Able to work with databases, servers, APIs, version control systems, and third-party apps.
· Provide insights on continuous improvement.
· Experience narrowing down complex problems into simple steps for resolution.
· Experience reading application logs to identify and solve issues.
· Follow testing procedures and execute the tests. These tests can be either automated or manual, and they can test the software as a whole or just part of it.
Requirements
· A bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in computer programming, computer science, or information technology.
· Minimum 1-3 years’ experience using C#, .NET, and Microsoft Visual Studio.
· Ability to write clean, easy to understand code.
· Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with customer service mindset.
· Has worked closely with development team, application team, and/or DBA team with the test results to improve system performance.
· Has executed manual test cases for command line, websites and mobile devices.
· Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
· Sound understanding of coding and development processes.
· Understands working in an agile environment.
