Job Description
Overview:
Abile Group has an exciting and challenging UPCOMING opportunity for a Network Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community Customer in Lorton, VA. As a Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of the customer systems, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security. You will work collaboratively with the IT team to support various projects and initiatives on both classified and unclassified networks.

The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.
Responsibilities:
  • Implements and manages local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network-related technologies.
  • Builds network and telecommunications systems for deployment, assist in testing, and prepare for shipping.
  • Performs network configuration and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Assists in the installation, operations, and maintenance of network devices & systems in the network/data centers and network infrastructure closets.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions into new and existing systems.
  • Monitors network performance and proactively address any issues to minimize downtime.
  • Provides on-call support and respond to system emergencies as required.
  • Conducts regular maintenance and firmware upgrades on network infrastructure.
  • Creates required documentation for network infrastructure.
Qualifications:
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI

Degree and Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 2 years of experience (or equivalent experience).

Desired Certifications:
  • IAT Level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01
  • Cisco/Juniper

Required Skills:
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques
  • Experience with COMSEC desired
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper network equipment
  • Knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and subnetting
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Basic understanding of network security principles and best practices
  • Experience troubleshooting and configuring IP networks using the following protocols: BGP and OSPF desired
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment
  • Experience in supporting classified networks
