Junior Graphic Designer (Hybrid)

Job Type: Contract-to-hire

Compensation Range: $45 - 50 per hour

Our client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graphic Designer with strong creative skills, backed by a portfolio of work demonstrating a passion for design and typography, to join their Marketing & Communications team!

In this position, you will be responsible for the design and production of executive presentations and graphics for both print and digital, including but not limited to social media graphics, flyers, billboards, banners, event signage, video graphics, and more.

The ideal candidate has experience working in numerous types of design, is driven by new perspectives, and is able to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hybrid role in which candidates must be onsite at Herndon, VA location 2-3 days/week.

Responsibilities:

• Align design with input and create marketing and communications assets using best practices; gather and implement feedback; incorporate edits.
• Manage brand templates including authoring new templates, editing, and archiving assets, creating design templates, and ensuring client access.
• Occasionally operate copiers/printers and finish materials; may include cutting flyers, binding presentations, folding brochures, etc.
• Design and prepare electronic files for print, using prepress industry standards for file setup.
• Modify and manipulate illustrations and photography for creative assets and presentations.
• Develop and prepare creative assets including development, re-sizing, and file export.
• Design and produce digital graphics for inclusion in video productions.
• Using data, produce editable graphs and other visuals for presentations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in design or related field.
• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Lightroom is a plus.
• Must demonstrate a willingness to take and apply feedback to improve.
• Two years of relevant design experience in an agency or marketing environment.
• Preferred qualifications:
• Must be highly organized and able to multitask.
• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Experience creating 2D motion graphics.
• Must be able to quickly adopt and apply the company's brand standards.
• Background creating illustrations for B2B content.
• Demonstrate a strong eye for effective typography, iconography, color, and balanced page layouts.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat).
• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must have a keen eye for detail.
• Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.
• Experience designing for Performance platforms.
