We are seeking a Junior Engineer with a strong work ethic, technical aptitude, and strong oral and written communication skills. A successful candidate will be well versed in the principles of civil engineering. Engineer-in-Training certificate/F.E. is preferred but is not required.

This is an entry level position for professional work and receives close supervision on new aspects of assignments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates rail design with other disciplines including operations and signal;
• Assists in the preparation of construction documents including plan, specifications and engineering estimates
• Drafts plans utilizing MicroStation and / or AutoCAD software
• Occasionally represents ZUI before the client, the railroad and other governmental agencies
• Plans and conducts work requiring judgment and independent evaluation
• Plans and designs railroad engineering plans, profiles, grading / drainage plans and earthwork sections

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Registration Status: Engineer-in-Training Certificate/F.E. Preferable, or in progress
