Junior Designer Jobs

Pembrooke and Ives is seeking a Junior Designer with at least 2 years’ experience to work closely with Intermediate & Senior Designers, Project Managers and Studio Directors to provide production assistance and co-ordination through the project delivery process. A dependable, energetic individual with a “can-do” attitude and exceptional attention to detail, the Junior Designer is responsible for supporting the efforts of the design team to ensure the successful completion of the project. Duties & Responsibilities

Client Service

• Prepares meeting minutes after each client meeting
• Supports team in preparation of client presentations and documentation
• Maintains a professional demeanor with clients and colleagues

Creative Leadership

• Organizes team’s attendance at design fairs/tradeshows
• Organizes vendor 'lunch & learn' presentations for the team

Financial Leadership

• Produces 100% timely and accurate personal timesheets
• Produces 100% timely and accurate reimbursable expenses (personal & project)

Project Deliverables

• Supports the Construction Administration phase responding to RFI’s, CO’s, and reviews shop drawings
• Assists in the production of client presentations under the guidance of senior team members
• Estimates material requirements and preliminary costs
• Uses computer-aided design (CAD) to prepare required floor plans, layouts, elevations, electrical plans, lighting plans, reflected ceiling plans, sections, sketches and details required to convey design intent
• Attends on-site visits and field reviews, provides direction to outside contractors and vendors, under direction of senior team members
• Renders conceptual design ideas and prepares 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings
• Meets all deadlines for design deliverables
• Involvement in all phases of the design process including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and some involvement in construction administration
• Sources and research materials, finishes, fixtures, appliances and equipment appropriate to the project and produces corresponding schedules and spec books to capture the information

Administrative Duties

• Assists in creating and managing a list of vendors that can be easily referenced (e.g. spreadsheet or other searchable organized format)
• Maintains and files correspondence, drawings, shop drawings and approved finishes.
• Assists in the management of team project calendar

People Leadership

• Mentors’ interns (if applicable)

Industry Knowledge

• Follows and speaks to current industry trends on space, function, decorative lighting, fabrics, furniture, and equipment, etc.

Skills & Qualifications

• Has knowledge of high-end market.
• Proficient in the use AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office programs
• Highly presentable, intelligent, confident, and discreet with an outgoing, upbeat and confident demeanor.
• At least 2 years of demonstrated work experience with Interior Design and/or Architectural Firms.
• Possess basic knowledge of interior design principles/practices
• Goal and detail-oriented with exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal).
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
• Able to make decisions and communicate in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hybrid role.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 (depending on experience) + Performance-Based Bonus
