Junior Cloud Application Developer - PSS3

Summary:

Rowan University is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Cloud Application Developer to join our growing team. This position will report directly to the Associate Director of Cloud & Custom Development. Primary responsibility will be to learn the codebase, gather user data, and respond to requests from senior developers and assist with all functions of application coding and design.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Additional activities as requested by the supervisor
• Work on other projects as assigned
• Design Development, Bug Fixes, Code Review, Testing, and Technical Documentation
• Develop code with guidance from senior developers
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Assisting the team with incident tickets

Qualifications: (Required)

• Solid understanding of SQL and RDBMSs, such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, sqlite.
• Strength in solving technical problems, offering creative solutions, and acquiring new skills to retain a competitive advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Two years of related professional experience
• 4-year degree or equivalent education in a related field. Professional experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis
• Experience working with MVC frameworks
• Solid understanding of one or more of the following: Python, Javascript, Grails, PHP, .Net
• Knowledge of one or more ITSM platforms: ServiceNow, BitBucket, Jira, etc.
• Ability to excel when working in a collaborative agile environment
• Experience with public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure)
• Experience working in a higher education environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments

Qualifications: (Preferred)

• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience working with or creating RESTful Web Services.
• Knowledge of enterprise/SaaS platforms, such as Ellucian Banner, Hyland OnBase, SAP Concur, Technolutions Slate
• Experience with decommissioning legacy web applications
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
