Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Senior Web Developer, the Junior Web Developer oversees the development and testing of various web-based software applications. This position is responsible for defining specifications for software, and coding, testing and debugging programs. All other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:
70% - Essential - Development: Manages software engineering process for best-in-class web applications by creating specs, developing new features, and maintaining an existing codebase for cloud-based applications. PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS in a LAMP environment. Must be proficient in the following: Object oriented programming, MVC frameworks, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, git, and supporting database systems using MySQL.

10% - Essential - Project Management: Works directly with stakeholders to define project initiatives, develop software features, identify and remove bugs in existing code bases and develop new system functionalities for software development projects.

10% - Essential - Design:
Fulfills development, design, testing, and user experience roles on projects. Coordinates systems development with external developers. Design and implement web pages for various internal and external partnerships. Applications must be able to convert flat design files into valid HTML/CSS layouts following accepted industry standards.

10% - Essential - Specifications and data:
  • Write software specifications which create clarity and confidence for external clients on deliverable expectations and timelines.
  • Implement data conversion processes and procedures in compliance with departmental controls

A bachelor's degree in communications, computer science, or a related field and experience in information technology. Related experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
