Laporte Consultants is looking for a talented Junior AutoCAD Designer to join our office in Columbus, Ohio. As part of an integrated project team and supporting a team of process engineers, this Junior AutoCAD designer will:
- Prepare, from sketches and other data, drawings and diagrams of engineering projects, including:
- Participate in client meetings, as needed, to coordinate equipment and piping during modeling;
- Manage project drawings;
- Apply the design and quality standards of the company;
- Process and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) development
- Prepare layout plans for the installation of new equipment, 2D/3D;
- Plan project elements and manufacturing drawings with accuracy and precision using REVIT software
- Computer assisted modeling of equipment, piping, components;
- Make site surveys.
Key Requirements:
- Possess knowledge in Revit 3D;
- Must maintain confidentiality regarding customer and company designs;
- Possess above average AutoCAD proficiency 2D/3D;
- Technologist degree or a relevant certification or training ;
- Must present self in a professional manner and maintain a positive attitude towards others;
- Familiarity with food safety an asset;
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or Smart P&IDs an asset.
Skills:
- Have good soft skills and be capable of working as part of multi-disciplinary teams;
- Sense of organization, discipline and task prioritization.
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand dimensions & geometry;
- Ability to timely identify and resolve issues;
- Extremely high level of attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to meet defined schedules and deadlines;
- Excellent communication skills;
Experience:
- AutoCAD: 1 year (preferred)
- Drafting: 1 year (preferred)
