Cad Drafter/Autocad Technician

Job Summary:

The Drafter/AutoCAD Technician provides computer-aided design (CAD) to create drawings for a variety of utility projects and a variety of specific project needs. This role will work closely with Project Managers to assist with design tasks that may include the following:

Responsibilities

• Provide training and mentoring to new hire employees
• Working overtime occasionally as needed to meet project deadlines
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or project manager.
• Maintain drawing records in our file management system
• QA/QC self-review of all projects, processes and procedures.
• Gaining knowledge of the client’s design standards and materials.
• Work directly with project managers and office staff to produce quality design sketches, material estimates and project documentation on schedule and on budget.

Qualifications

• A working knowledge of drafting terminology, principles, techniques, and equipment
• Must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficient working in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, or Adobe Pro
• Ability to interact with diverse groups of people
• Keep appraised of changes to internal and external customer drafting standards and requirements.
• Knowledge in GIS principles and software
• Able to work efficiently and effectively as well as balance multiple projects while working under a deadline

Minimum Educational Background:

HS diploma and/or drafting certificate with 1+ years relevant experience drafting and detailing with AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or GIS software.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in an office environment. The employee will be required to regularly sit or stand and have the ability to lift up to twenty-five pounds. Vision requirements include close vision and involves frequent use of computers and related equipment.
