ABOUT THE ROLE

Interparfums Luxury Brands is seeking a Junior Accountant, to assist the accounting team in all aspects of General Accounting and Analysis including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Analytics and Finance liaison for Marketing, Sales and Human Resource department leads. Key duties include accounts payable, managing general ledger accounts, and analyzing expense accounts. The Junior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and will be based out of our office in Manhattan (hybrid workplace model).

The Accounting and Finance department is an integral function of the Company. The Accounting Department consists of a team of five, working in a friendly office environment, which embraces an open-door policy. This role offers the opportunity to work with several departments within the company and experience a wide range of responsibilities which will foster personal & career growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reconciliation of payment remittance details and applied deductions to outstanding Accounts Receivable
• Accounts Payable
• Weekly management of vendor payments
• General Accounting
• Daily cash posting
• Maintain and record bank settlements
• Daily coding and entering of invoices
• Accounts Receivable
• Research and communication with customers regarding fines, deductions, and chargebacks
• Maintain proper documentation of vendors, invoices, contracts, W-9s, etc.
• Maintain collections log and prepare write-offs

• Finance support function for Sales, Human Resource and Marketing team leads.
• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Financial Analysis & Reporting
• Prepare monthly gross margin and cost of good analysis.
• Track and analyze monthly expense details within the P&L.
• Analysis of P&L and balance sheet accounts as needed.

• Cash Flow
• Assist the Accounting Manager on cash management process, providing reporting and analytics for decision making for upper management

• Assist with annual audit and internal control SOX testing
• Ad hoc analysis
• Liaise with other departments, such as sales operations and marketing, on special projects or analysis
• Assist with file maintenance, file creation and improvement of existing files

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• You have 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the beauty industry or public accounting
• Exceptional Excel skills and computer proficiency in PowerPoint & Word
• You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and effectively manage multiple projects
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
