JOB TITLE: Junior Accountant

TYPE: HYBRID – 4 days work from home / 1 day in office

OFFICE LOCATION: New York (Hudson Yards)

COMPENSATION: $65000 - $70,000

Customer

Our client (the hiring firm) is a Financial Services Broker Dealer and institutional quality provider of end-to-end capital solutions, which include tailored primary raises, tokenization services, investor management, and secondary trading

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and processes.
• Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, such as recording financial transactions, verifying and reconciling invoices, and maintaining general ledger accounts.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure compliance.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and monitor actual performance against budgeted targets.
• Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
• Conduct regular audits of financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and provide support for financial analysis and decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 1-2 years of experience in accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience in the fintech industry.
