Job Description
PMI Kyoto Packaging Systems is looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our team in our Elk Grove Village office! PMI Kyoto Packaging Systems has been an industry leader in the packaging industry for over twenty years. We provide high end, custom machinery to a diverse, international clientele including many Fortune 500 companies. We are a dynamic and rapidly expanding company with great growth opportunity within our own staff. We take great pride in doing our manufacturing capabilities and we do all our assembly in-house. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor incidents or daily requests from employees and provide various levels of IT support promptly and effectively. Responsible for maintaining, supporting, troubleshooting, and installation of all servers, PCs, and networking systems. Configure user accounts and permissions for various systems. Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues such as Handy Held Terminal scanner issues, the server outage, and network issues.
Diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues, including operating systems (Windows) and across a range of software applications such as Kintone. Escalates incidents and requests to appropriate internal personnel or external vendors when further expertise is required. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all equipment, software, and license users. Configure peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and hard drives, etc. and monitor them up and running. Administer other systems and technical resources such as security system, keycard access, desk phone systems, and AV/conferencing equipment. Assist with ERP system projects or IT-related projects to continually enhance business processes. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: AS or BA in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in troubleshooting issues with various systems, including network, hardware, and applications. 2+ years of professional experience in an IT help desk, IT support, or IT technician role. Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft operating systems, commonly used business software, and browsers. Knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN. IT-related certification is a plus. Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines. Coordinates contact with vendors as needed to assist with support activities. Highly organized and detail oriented. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels. Take an active interest in learning new systems and technologies. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand, and move from one area to another. Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse. Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.
