The IT Manager is responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading technical related activities for the organization. This individual works to ensure all computer systems within Fortis’s organization serve to support organizational goals, implementing computer systems to fulfill the organization’s information systems requirements. They are tasked with collaborating with management and end users to determine the strengths and weaknesses of Fortis’s existing systems to identify areas for improvement. The IT Manager partners with the organization to support and elevate its success while providing education and training to further enhance the ability and security of each end user’s experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees system performance.
- Supports and maintains network and computer system security by performing regular security tests and security monitoring.
- Performs cost-benefit analyses for potential computer system upgrades to support purchase decisions.
- Works closely with management and end-users to define systems requirements to meet business goals.
- Leads all efforts to protect the organization from cybersecurity threats
- Stays up to date and current with the latest technological advances in order to ensure their organization is using the best technology available.
- Ensures network components meet the needs of business as well as work together seamlessly, using the full range of capabilities.
- Develops and executes department policies and procedures, disaster procedures, and maintains data backups.
- Leads the implementation of upgrades to computer systems as well as repairs in a timely manner.
- Responsible for Cyber Security efforts, network infrastructure, and Helpdesk team.
- Analyzes department needs, identifies vulnerabilities, and boosts productivity, efficiency and accuracy to make informed business decisions.
- Analyzes the effectiveness of the organization’s computer systems and develops strategies to improve IT productivity.
- Recommends and advises the leadership team on initiatives to increase the ROI of the organization's information technology expenditures.
- Assists in providing orientation, education, and training sessions to end-users for new, existing, and modified computer systems.
- Assists in the deployment, customization, and post-implementation troubleshooting of new systems.
- Handles business-critical IT tasks and systems administration.

- Expertise in cybersecurity
- Must be comfortable with Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office, Android, IOS
- Strong attention to detail and solid time management skills
- Proven leadership skills
Education & Experience
- Strong knowledge and experience with programming languages and operating systems (MS Exchange, Active Directory, and other Windows-based systems), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring
- Construction Industry Experience preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in IT Management
- 5+ years of experience in technical support positions
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology, computer engineering or related field
- Experience with MDM systems, Programming/Scripting/SQL, API Interfacing
