The primary responsibilities and essential duties of this position are:
Provide technical expertise and demonstrates in-deep knowledge of IT systems administration and core infrastructure support. Administrates Maui Jim’s core IT systems and networks, and firewalls for hosted on-premises, AWS, and Azure cloud services. Responsible for daily system administration, configurations, daily operations, and maintenance of Window AD domain services, Active Directory, Azure, AWS, DNS, DHCP and NTP services. Must have a minimum of 3 years hands on experience administrating virtual machine images, VMware VM hosts, AWS VPC and EC2 hosts, Window servers and Linux RedHat systems. Administrates the daily activities of IT system backups, restores, system checks, security settings and daily system log auditing. Support Helpdesk team and manage daily administration schedules of all system maintenance and support responsibilities. Work with IT management and CIO to provide technical roadmaps and system updates. Interfaces directly with other departments and supported end-users to provide systems, hardware, software, network, and applications problem resolution. Familiar with AWS EC2, Azure VPC, VMware, and Hypervisor management, Windows 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022 Server, Linux RHEL, IIS, Apache, and Tomcat web servers. IT security administration of Palo Alto firewalls. Administration of NAS and SAN storage, knowledge of SCSI, SAS, SATA drives and NFS and CIFS file systems. Knowledgeable in industry standard desktop operating systems and office automation software and retail software. Experience with public cloud administration of Microsoft 0365 office, Exchange, Azure, and AWS. Willing to learn basic SAP administration functions working directly with SAP managed service partner.
Specific Responsibilities: Provide technical support of Maui Jim’s IT systems, IT security, cloud, SaaS, and PaaS platforms. Support IT department groups and assists in application and system builds for ongoing IT projects. Meet weekly with MSP datacenter partner to review and schedule all system updates, security patching and system changes. Work with SAP basis partner to help coordinate weekly data transports and help troubleshoot support issues. Provides helpdesk level 2 support. Provides incident response management duties. Must be a self-starter and technical leader that takes ownership of their area of responsibility, able to clearly communicate internal within their team, to end users and with business departments. Continually assess our datacenter partner MSP productivity and service ticket processing to ensure service level objectives and customer service goals are being met. Must have experience troubleshooting core services (i.e. OS, server hardware, file shares, backup, e-mail, print services, web, portal and data transports).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated.
  • Contribute to company-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Perform installs, moves, adds and changing of system equipment, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Support Microsoft and Apple computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphone devices.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and processes, maintain security and confidentiality.
  • Perform system builds and refreshes in accordance with company and program policies.
  • Provide support for Windows desktops, MacOS and iOS & Android mobile devices.
  • Basic SAP desktop support with knowledge of SapGUI and CRM Web browser.
  • Perform daily system and desktop backups and backup tape rotations.
  • Develop successful solutions to technical problems.
  • Print server management and printer device support and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborates with IT leadership to help meet the key operational objectives of the company, along with providing seamless support to the end user.
  • SAP (HANA,FMS,R4,ECC) experience.
  • AWS or Azure cloud administrator experience of 3 years or more.
  • Active Directory / DHCP / DNS administration.
  • Own support tickets, IT security incidents and critical outage escalations of all IT systems.
  • Effectively communicates decisions to achieve understanding and acceptance of changes and/or direction.
  • Sets ticket priority of datacenter hosting MSP partner and ensures tickets are closed in time and follows up with end users.
  • Troubleshoot and repair of all Windows, Linux, SAN, NAS storage server and services.
  • Office 365 administrator experience of 3 years or more.
  • Manage security settings and software for all system servers to maintain privacy and protection from attacks.
  • Provides timely escalation and initiates remediation efforts by engaging appropriate teams.
  • Microsoft 365 Exchange and Outlook email administration of 3 years or more.
  • Works varied and flexed hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and participates on an on-call rotation.
  • Collaborate with Maui Jim IT technology teams and other departments including HR, finance, Marketing, DC\warehouse Operations, customer service and IT leadership team.
  • Ticket System Jira, Zendesk – Ensure proper recording, documentation, and closure.
  • Provide remote support for North America and International users and contractors.
  • Basic Network Infrastructure / Troubleshoot TCP/IP/LAN/WAN Issues.
  • Assist with Palo Alto Firewalls and AD/Domain security administration.
  • Make OS, software, hardware systems, printers and network recommendations to peers and management and help source approved solutions.
  • Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Linux system administration, SUSE experience preferred.
  • Helpdesk System Support for end users, contractors, and vendors.
Desired qualifications:
A. As a guide, indicated below is the preferred education and experience for this position:
  • Operating System – Windows 8.1/ 10/ Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022 – Mas OS – Linux RHEL.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Information Technology Service Desk or System Administrator experience (Professional Certifications may substitute for up to 3 years’ experience).
  • Proficiency in MS 365 Office and anti-virus applications and PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Two-year college or technical school in computer science or information technology (Preferred)
  • Experience in desktop builds and application support.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux OS’s, preferrable SUSE, and patching, system hardening, compiling, and troubleshooting
  • Customer Support experience.
  • Experience diagnosing computer hardware problems.
  • Experience in installing and testing software applications, printers, and other peripherals.
