Position Summary
The Associate Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for being a hands-on technical leader in the design, implementation and management of the day-to-day aspects of compute and storage related systems, services & solutions; ensuring their quality, stability, availability, redundancy and security. This role includes the design and management of servers, storage, backup/data protection, and virtualization stack.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
• Implementing solutions and diagnosing problems for workstations, servers and network infrastructure and communications equipment
• Working as a member of the Information Technology team to implement new products and technologies beneficial for Karmak
• Collaborating with other departments within the Karmak team to assist them in meeting their goals using available technologies
• Assisting with documentation of procedures as needed; written communication skills helpful
• Assisting with product testing, requiring attention to detail
Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of typical PC hardware and software required
• Windows 7 and 10 Professional/Enterprise, Windows Server experience is required
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Server products (SQL, O365, EndPoint, Active Directory) a plus
• Experience maintaining a Virtual Server environment, MS Hyper-V a plus
• Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) experience
• Cisco Router and Firewall Experience is a plus but not required
• Requires strong verbal communication, organization & time management skills
• Requires the ability to work independently as well as a team member
• Solid written communication skills are a plus
• Requires the ability to quickly determine customer concerns & conduct appropriate research to provide positive resolution
• Occasional evening and weekend assignments are required
• On call schedule is required (1-2 weeks per month), requiring a quick physical response time to the Karmak Carlinville site as needed
• Occasional travel may be required

You will be reporting directly to the IT Manager and working within a team of 4 other IT professionals.
