IT Coordinator

The IT Coordinator position is a critical member of the Execution Team working directly with leadership, technical staff, project management, and internal customers to implement and manage solutions that achieve business objectives with a focus on user adoption of Cloud tools.

This role will serve as the first point of contact for internal customers seeking technical assistance, software configuration, hardware management, and deployment of assets.

The IT Coordinator will be responsible for synchronizing day-to-day Shapiro IT activities and coordinating Microsoft 365 Cloud application projects including: Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Power Automate, Azure Active Directory, and Microsoft Office.

What You’ll Do at Shapiro


  • Create and maintain end-user accounts and diagnose and fix security access issues
  • Be responsible for network systems' effective and secure performance, including servers, switches, firewalls, and telephony
  • Coordinate Microsoft 365 cloud projects internally and with third-party vendors
  • Direct the activities of the Shapiro helpdesk to ensure the IT needs of users are met
  • Plan and oversee the installation and maintenance of computer systems, hardware, and networks
  • Perform ongoing support and maintenance of all hardware, software, and network components
  • Ensure IT and security policies are updated and maintained with third-party vendors
  • Identify opportunities to improve user satisfaction
  • Assist with the testing and release of new software development initiatives
  • Monitor and analyze the success of IT initiatives and projects and continually develop and evaluate new technologies and tools for the company


Need to Have


  • Strong organizational skills to manage administrative tasks related to IT activities
  • Experience utilizing a project management / ticketing system to manage all IT activities and projects
  • Experience creating and maintaining documentation related to network configurations
  • Three (3) or more years of experience installing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Windows server operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows desktop operating systems, and Office 365
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and keep them all moving forward
  • Experience providing friendly, professional, accurate service and support to all users by promptly responding to emails, phone messages, and correspondence.
  • Significant attention to detail to never let anything slip through the cracks
  • Experience working with a Managed Service Provider vendor to troubleshoot hardware problems and provide boots-on-the-ground support to them
  • Ability to communicate complex information (geek speak) clearly and concisely to non-technical users
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to automate workflows and streamline processes
  • Experience preserving the confidentiality of a company’s records and initiatives
  • Microsoft certification or related certifications
  • Experience beta and regression testing new web and mobile-based software systems, documenting testing results, and communicating results back to software development team
  • A bachelor’s degree in a computer science-related field
  • Experience managing and configuring mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones
  • Experience with Microsoft server operating systems, domains administration, Office 365 administration, system virtualization, firewall administration, telephony systems, and network security, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to coordinate well with other departments, personnel, and vendors and be a go-to expert
  • Experience creating and maintaining process documentation and maintaining policies, procedures, and associated training plans


Nice to Have


  • Experience using Microsoft Power Automate or similar using low-code and drag-and-drop tools to automate business processes
  • Experience with data analytics and business intelligence-related projects
  • Experience with the Cadence phone system or similar
  • Experience in the metals, recycling, and sustainability industry
