Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Director of IT who can use their technology skills to build and maintain a corporate technology landscape that allows us to work effectively, efficiently and securely.

We run a mixture of cloud-based and on-prem infrastructure and have a user base spanning from technically proficient engineers to non-technical employees. This person will recommend and implement technology solutions, manage system security and upgrades, provide employee training and support and manage the infrastructure of both our offices

Our ideal candidate has extensive knowledge in IT service management, experience managing staff, and advanced industry knowledge to keep us on the cutting edge from an infrastructure perspective. From day one, you'll have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT operations, and an ongoing impact on our overall growth.

Key Accountabilities and Scope:

  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware and software that can positively impact the business.
  • Be focused on securing the IT footprint of the organization.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce policies and procedures that govern corporate IT usage.
  • Maintain the organization's effectiveness and efficiency by executing strategic and defining tactical plans for implementing information technologies.This includes documenting all procedures and processes.
  • Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative.
  • Track and maintain hardware and software inventory.
  • Build and administer essential IT operations, including: operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software and hardware.
  • Train employees on both software and hardware, train on effective data hygiene, and provide technical support, as needed.
  • Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with internal departments and external providers.

Skills Required:

  • Resourceful, flexible and adaptable; no task is too big or too small
  • Experience with collaboration and development products such as the Atlassian suite of tooling (ie. Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience with MDM solutions (eg. Mosyle, JAMF)
  • Experience managing tools such as Slack and 1Password.
  • Experience with certificate management and best practices supporting cert infrastructure
  • Experience with on-premises networking and capacity planning
  • Strong fundamentals of networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, DNS, DHCP, WPA, etc.
  • Must be service oriented
  • Experience with cloud based Identity management infrastructure (ie. OKTA, GSuite)
  • Experience administering Mac (OSX), Windows and Linux systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

This role is based in New York City and will be expected to work from our New York office in a hybrid model Monday - Wednesday.

(NYC only) Pursuant to Section 8-102 of title 8 of the New York City administrative code, the base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000. Total compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
