Working fully remotely the IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) for the Navico Group, a division of Brunswick, combines technology expertise and business acumen to ensure strategic and tactical alignment between Navico Group functional areas and the IT organization. The BRM represents business partners to the IT organization for realization of business value through IT delivery.

This position requires the ability to understand Navico Group business processes, short/long term strategic outcomes, and data that support adjacent functional areas. They act as a change agent to help facilitate effective deployments/modifications to current systems portfolio as well as partner to scope the “art of the possible�.

The BRM will collaborate across respective business teams to identify, scope and oversee the execution of expanded capabilities. They will manage information critical to business needs including reviewing enhancements, projects, and solutions and being the focal point for all technical-related activities (including project oversight, consultation and vendor coordination). In addition, this role will be asked to provide thought leadership on industry trends and innovation opportunities within their respective business areas, and as appropriate, turn these into IT projects that deliver future capabilities.

Equally important, the BRM works across the IT organization to ensure their business partner’s unique needs are incorporated in IT standards and enterprise solutions.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the bridge between the functional/business teams, technical teams and support teams – including day-to-day escalations, general guidance to Navico Group leaders on the “art of the possibleâ€�, and partnering with technology resources to fully realize benefits of target architecture and platforms
  • Critically evaluates the information gathered to ensure it meets the needs of the business area as well as IT goals
  • When necessary, Project Lead/Manage initiatives that require full lifecycle execution from ideation to solution execution
  • Partner with key stakeholders to create and process IT initiative proposals or business cases, collaborating with business stakeholders, portfolio management, and IT resources to define scope, ROI, risks & mitigations, major components of work, staffing requirements, and financial needs
  • Ability to lead and manage under conditions of ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Leverage relationships to influence and maintain a target and a horizon-based view of capability maturity across people, process, and technology
  • Serve as internal voice of the customer as needed by articulating business needs; validate functional and non-functional requirements are met by any proposed solutions as well as confirming alignment to technology roadmaps
  • Align strategic and tactical business objectives for Navico Group with corresponding IT objectives and long-term roadmaps
  • Drives and challenges the business area on their current processes and assumptions to define the best solutions for the business and customer
  • Provide insights and thought leadership on industry/functional trends and best practices to guide business priorities and technology decisions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Agile thinker possessing creativity, curiosity, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Comfortable and able to thrive in a matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated track record of creating technology solutions to solve business problems (globally, or across multiple divisions or regions within a single company)
  • Ability to visually present and communicate data and recommendations
  • Independent thinker who is persistent, resourceful, and resilient
  • Able to constantly adapt and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • 7+ years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects based on organization objectives, with a focus on Sales and/or Marketing technology (Salesforce, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), InRiver (PIM))
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Experience working with third parties to enhance/enable delivery for the business
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization; effectively communicate complex matters in simply understood terms
  • Embraces the challenge of change

Preferred Qualifications: (depends on area)

  • MBA (Master of Business Administration)
  • Experience with ServiceNow, DevOps, and/or JIRA
    • Experience in marketing and sales areas with demonstrated examples digital transformation
    • Understands the IT industry, e.g., emerging technologies and trends, industry standards, solution architecture and vendor landscape
