Job Description

Coordinate Information Technology asset management lifecycle for hardware and software.
This includes procurement, asset assignment and preparation, inventory control, retirement and decommissioning, and disposal.
Provide training, guidance, and mentoring of students that assist with these responsibilities. Coordinate/support other related duties in an evolving workplace.

Essential Job Functions
  • Document and optimize purchasing procedures to acquire technology assets and

levels of technology accessories and supplies.
  • Ensure a timely response to requests assigned to the asset management team through
the ITS ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Client Experience and other team members to
create and update asset management policies, procedures and guidelines that can be
distributed to the greater team
  • Communicate and coordinate with ITS team members, other departments, and members
of the community, in a proactive, collaborative, and helpful manner, regarding equipment
requests, replacements and the safe/secure disposal of technology assets including
community sales, donations, and recycling.
  • Assist with invoicing and cost reconciliation of purchased hardware.
  • Hire, train, and supervise a team of student workers.
  • Produce and distribute reports as needed within ITS and/or to the campus community.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with vendors.
  • Participate in vendor and contract reviews and discussions, along with all aspects of
hardware and software asset management as directed by IT management which
includes planning for annual equipment replacement cycles and responding to the daily
technology needs of the university.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform supplemental Desktop Support second-tier support, as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited university in a field related to this role (relevant
experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree)
  • Familiarity with hardware devices and peripherals.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and challenge decisions in a professional and courteous
  • Understanding of at least one asset management tool.
  • Demonstrable organizational skills..
  • Familiarity with inventory control and asset management concepts and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience in asset and inventory management including purchasing, order
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a field related to this role

  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets Skills for mastery of spreadsheets (VLOOKUP,
INDEX MATCH, Pivot tables and reporting, etc)
  • IT asset management certifications a plus (e.g., IAITAM International Association of
Information Technology Asset Managers CITAM – Certified IT Asset Manager, CSAM –
Certified Software Asset Manager)

Physical Demands
Must be able to walk the campus, stairs/hills, and lift up to 50 lbs.
