Job Description

In this role you will provide technical and analytical services for department and enterprise IT solution implementations, specifically the Pierce County Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system and other systems managed by Spatial Services.

This position is eligible for remote work in accordance with Pierce County and IT remote work policies. Additional onsite work may be required in certain situations and candidates must live within a commuting distance to meet these requirements.

How to be Successful in the Role:
In this role you will perform daily administration and support of the county Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and one other SaaS product (Smartsheet) including, but not limited to, ongoing maintenance, user administration, advanced configuration, scripting, coding, data migration, reporting, and integrations. This includes basic scripting in the EAM Extensibility Framework using scripting languages like JavaScript and Python. You will also be a core team member in conducting system deployments, and upgrades of cloud-hosted enterprise applications using established best practices. Collaborative teamwork, creative problem solving and troubleshooting, anticipating needs, and confidence in addition to your technical skills will ensure your success.

Current Projects:

  • Extending the EAM Service Request Portal to internal and external customers.
  • EAM Work Order process improvement – Coordinating asset management across multiple county departments.
  • Implement EAM OpenCAD for county facilities.
  • New department EAM implementation - asset management, inspection management, GIS, and mobile application.

Core Daily Responsibilities:
In addition to the role responsibilities listed above you will alsoUtilize in-depth systems knowledge to function as liaison between business units and technology services. Translate business requirements into solution proposals that address current and evolving customer requirements while adhering to IT architecture and security standards.
Work with technologists, system designers, and programmers to assist in researching and determining technical solutions to enterprise applications; participate in reviewing and assessing 3rd party software solutions for fit/gap; contribute to the design and analysis for application implementation; participate in the configuration, integration, and data migration; and assist in the implementation of the application. Evaluate and revise solutions to ensure compliance with IT standards, and customer business needs are met.
Participate in creating feasibility studies, progress reports, proposals, visualizations, and presentations. Write training documentation and deliver user training for new business processes.
Assist with developing integration, end user and acceptance test plans.
Work with clients to understand, research, and resolve user technical inquiries and system issues.
Assist with maintenance of spatial data components including EAM/GIS integration and EAM OpenCAD modules.
Perform data analysis to provide insight into client data, quality control and planning.
Contribute to the development and enforcement of data ownership, stewardship, management, and security policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

An Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree or two-year college diploma in information technology, computer sciences, business, public administration, or related field.
Two or more years of information technology or business analysis experience required.
Additional education or experience which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute equally on a year of year basis for the recruiting requirements.
Positions in specific program areas may require program-related experience, education, and/or training.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience and knowledge in HxGN Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) or other enterprise asset management system.
Experience with scripting languages like JavaScript or Python is desirable.
Knowledge and understanding of web application architecture. Skill in troubleshooting and investigating application problems and recommending solutions.
Skill in configuring and testing enterprise applications.
Knowledge of LEAN methodologies. Skill in identifying business workflow and requirements.
Knowledge of GIS technologies as related to Asset Management.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to work independently, work respectfully with others, and guide/support the success of others. Teaching experience and strong familiarity with asset management data best practices and standards is highly preferred.

Special Note:Prior to receiving a Bachelors’ degree in a relevant field of study, students in their last term of education may be considered.
